So, how does your company currently manage fraud risk and the claim process?
Where do you see your industry going?
Technology is the future for the insurance industry and 2021 will see some great advancements in this area. Things like AI, Machine Learning and Chat Bots will help improve the customer experience and also reduce claim life cycle by automating mundane resource heavy processes freeing staff to concentrate on more complex tasks. One of the main draws for coming to work at PACT was their innovation and focus on using technology to improve the insurance claims experience.
If you went back in time what would you tell yourself?
Not be so hard on myself and accept failure as a part of the learning process. How we handle failure is more important than how we handle success and our attitude about failure is what determines whether we bounce back or fall hard.
What’s your favourite quote?
“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.” – Muhammad Ali
Who is / was your first client?
My first insurance client that I had sole responsibility for was AXA Insurance. Working with such an established corporate entity was a great learning experience for me, we had our fair share of failures but AXA worked with us to iron out the creases and deliver a quality service. I built some effective and long lasting relationships with AXA and hope to work with them again in the future.
If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
Be curious, ask questions and don’t pigeonhole yourself. The more of the industry you experience the more unique range of skills you build which will help you become more effective in a role you thoroughly enjoy.
Which company (other than your own) do you admire and why?
Being a petrol head and having owned and had a pretty poor experience in a hybrid this may come as a surprise but Tesla are a company I admire currently especially what they have achieved in such a relatively short period of time (17 years). Their product is market leading from both an innovative and technology stand point and given the ever more stringent emissions limits and eventual ban of the internal combustion engine Tesla is at the forefront of motoring’s future. All that’s left is for them to make electric cars affordable, pull your socks up Elon.
